On Thursday August 29, 2019, the Freeport Housing Authority hosted a “Back To School” workshop and BBQ at the basketball courts of the Moxey Rigby Apartment Complex. This annual tradition has become a great way to get the children and parents ready for the new school year, which, for some can be filled with anxiety and apprehension. With the assistance of the Freeport Chamber of Commerce, Georgica Green Ventures Tri-Us Electric, United Way, JOBCO, Tri-State Technologies and Rachel’s Waterside Grill, an afternoon of school preparation, food, music and face-painting was enjoyed by all. Thanks to all of our sponsors, especially the United Way for donating the backpacks and school supplies, and also to the Village of Freeport and Board of Education for their continued support.
