April 25, 2024 – 11AM: Ribbon-Cutting of Senior Community Center

The Freeport Housing Authority and its Board of Commissioners invite the public to the Ribbon-Cutting and dedication of the new Senior Community Center for the South Main Residents. The Community Center, located at the corner of South Main and Raynor Streets, had previously housed the Freeport Housing Authority Office and staff temporarily since October 2012 when Super Storm Sandy destroyed the original office at 3 Buffalo Avenue. Upon opening the new Administration Building in June 2024, FHA Executive Director John Hrvatin and the Commissioners set forth to return the Community Center back to the residents but in a newer, updated version than it was in 2012. It is now a warm, cozy place for residents to gather with their friends to talk, have meals together, play chess or card games. Join us in commemorating the official grand opening of the Community Center. Light refreshments will be served.
